Historique :	La statue date du XVIIIe siècle ; le reliquaire date du XIXe siècle. Saint jean Discalceat est né à Saint-Vougay en 1279. Il quitte son métier de maçon pour la prêtrise qu'il exerça pendant 13 ans à Rennes. En 1316 il vient à Quimper prendre l'habit des Frères Mineurs. Il se distingua par sa charité envers les pauvres. Il meurt de la peste le 15 décembre 1349. Le dépôt de pain sous la statue est l'expression de la reconnaissance. C'est la seule statue qui ait échappé au saccage révolutionnaire du 12 décembre 1793.
