organisme de sélection de la race Bretonne Pie Noir visant à assurer les fonctions d'orientation et de représentation de la race bovine Bretonne Pie Noir et veiller à la cohérence des actions qui concourent à la sauvegarde de la race ; définir et mettre en œuvre un programme de sélection pour la race ; assurer la tenue du livre généalogique, la certification de la parenté bovine, la réalisation du contrôle de performances, l'évaluation génétique de la race et la diffusion de ses résultats, ainsi que l'émission et la cession des certificats zootechniques ; animer le réseau d'éleveurs de Bretonne Pie Noir ; conduire ou participer à des programmes de recherche appliquée ; orienter et coordonner les actions de sélection ; mettre en oeuvre l'ingénierie spécifique de morphologie raciale ; effectuer la promotion de la race et du programme de sélection ainsi que la communication interne à la race ; aider par tous moyens l'élevage, les achats et les ventes de reproducteurs
