entretenir le devoir de mémoire (obligation morale de se souvenir d'un évènement historique) ; représenter les médaillés militaires, adhérents de l'amicale, auprès des pouvoirs publics locaux (autorités départementales, communales etc) ; resserrer les liens de solidarité et de camaraderie qui doivent unir tous les décorés de la Médaille Militaire ; apporter aux adhérents et à leur famille le soutien moral dont ils peuvent avoir besoin ; dans la mesure du possible, alléger les charges administratives incombant à la famille d'un adhérent suite à son décès ; contribuer à la dignité des obsèques de chacun de ses membres par la présence d'une délégation de l'Amicale accompagné de son drapeau
